What’s the Middle? The Middle is anyone stuck in the middle of the process. Gary points out that the music label folks didn’t figure this out until it was too late and their world came crashing down.
But we probably don’t think about the big guys like Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Borders Bookstore (oops–too late). These guys are in the middle and IF content or product producers (OEM’s) get brave enough or have no other choice but to sell direct to consumers (ala Amazon.com) then the guys in the middle are in big trouble.
